Production Team

Director Biography – Cory Generoux

Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Cory Generoux is of Nehiyaw, Nakoda, Saulteaux and Hebridean ancestry, and is a registered band member of Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

Cory has enjoyed a diverse twenty-year film, television, and multi-media career that features award-winning films and television programs, with a solid background in direction, production, cinematography, editing and screenwriting, as well as on-camera work as host and comedy performer.

Cory has also sat on numerous boards and committees in the film and television industry, most recently as a Board Member of Story Money Impact, a charitable organization started by former NFB Producer’s that breathes new life into Canadian made projects with social and/or environmental impact, as well as works toward impact filmmaking training of young, aspiring filmmakers from across Canada.

Cory was also an integral member of the inaugural committee that initiated the “NATIVE: A Journey Into Cinematic Storytelling” program with the Berlin International Film Festival, which is still widely celebrated to this day.

Today, Cory utilizes his knowledge, expertise, and talent to not only advance Indigenous storytelling, cultures, and languages, but to also create a lasting impact. Cory is currently pursuing his passion for story telling as a writer/director on several television series’.
