"In heaven an angel is nobody in particular." George Bernard Shaw
Here at Angel Entertainment, we produce compelling and entertaining feature films and dramatic scripted and unscripted television programming for the international marketplace. From concept through to completion, we ensure creative excellence by taking an active role at each stage of production, resulting in intelligent and thought-provoking shows.
Bob Crowe & Wally Start
Angel Entertainment was formed when two creative producers decided to join forces and follow their passion for great stories. Bob Crowe was a lawyer with a 15-year history of serving the film and TV community in Western Canada; Wally Start had just sold his successful commercial and post-production house. Their goals were simple: stay small, focus on high-quality projects, and bring the best creative minds together to produce compelling work that could compete internationally. The first business plan was written on the back of an envelope. 15 years later, it still holds up.
Today, Bob and Wally are well-known throughout the Canadian scene. From highly-lauded television series in which they maintained creative control (Rabbit Fall, The Other Side) to feature film co-productions with like-minded companies (Big Muddy, Stained), Angel Entertainment's shows have travelled the globe. Wally actively works in creating and developing factual series while Bob writes and develops dramatic series and feature films.
Ell McEachern has worked in the film and television industry since 1999 and gained her first experience in a variety of crew roles from continuity to accounting. She moved into producing through a CFTPA Producer Internship, and her production experience, commerce education and interpersonal skills made the move a natural one. With educational background and years in the industry Ell has excelled at managing the business affairs and relationships with funders and broadcasters for all Angel's projects. She is extremely detail oriented and keeps a handle on all the financial aspects of each project, as well as budgeting, cost reporting and execution of agreements. She was voted to the Saskatchewan Motion Picture Association (SMPIA) Board of Directors in 2002, and is also a member of the Directors Guild of Canada (Accounting Caucus).
